Online ABRSM Grade 3 Theory Course
Our Grade 3 Music Theory course is a great choice if you already have some knowledge of theory and want to take your understanding to the next level. Building on what you’ve learned at earlier stages, this course introduces more detail in rhythm, pitch, and harmony – helping you read and understand music with greater confidence.
It’s beginner-friendly in approach, but designed for those who already know the basics and are ready to expand their skills. Perfect preparation for progressing towards Grade 5 Theory.

Who is this course for?
This course is for students who have some prior music theory knowledge (for example, from completing Grades 1–2 or equivalent experience). It’s suitable for children aged 7/8+ in the online format, as well as for adult learners looking to grow their confidence in theory step by step
What do I need to do the course?
You’ll need:

Access to Zoom for the live sessions

The ABRSM Discovering Music Theory Grade 3 book (so you can follow along and practise between classes)
What if I can’t attend one of the sessions?
Don’t worry – all sessions are recorded and shared with you. You’ll be able to catch up in your own time if you miss a class.
When can I take the exam?
The ABRSM Grade 3 Theory exam is available on demand through the ABRSM website. This means you can book and take it at any time after completing the course, whenever you feel ready.
