Who is this course for?
This course is for learners who already have music theory knowledge to around Grade 4 level (or equivalent). It’s suitable for children aged 7/8+ in the online format, as well as adult learners preparing for the exam or wanting to round out their theory knowledge.
What do I need to do the course?
You’ll need:

Access to Zoom for the live sessions

The ABRSM Discovering Music Theory Grade 5 book (so you can follow along and practise between classes)
What if I can’t attend one of the sessions?
Don’t worry – all sessions are recorded and shared with you. You’ll be able to catch up in your own time if you miss a class.
When can I take the exam?
The ABRSM Grade 5 Theory exam is available on demand through the ABRSM website. This means you can book and take it at any time after completing the course, whenever you feel ready.
Do I need to pass the exam?
If you just do music for your own pleasure, then no. However, if you do practical instrument grades of any board, you'll have to pass Grade 5 Theory before you're allowed to do Grade 6 Instrumental grade.
